Biovie's organic raw foods are selected and processed according to a unique principle: no heating beyond 42°C.. This limit is not arbitrary - it is the temperature at which food enzymes begin to denature and thermolabile vitamins start to degrade. Since 2007, we have applied this criterion to every product in our range, whether dehydrated, freeze-dried, or slowly dried, by verifying the processing conditions directly with our suppliers.

What is a raw food according to Biovie ?

The term "raw" is often misused on labels. For us, a raw food is one whose nutritional matrix has remained intact. Specifically: No heat beyond 42°C. Neither during harvesting, nor during transport, nor during processing.

This covers three major product families at Biovie:

  • Dehydrated at low temperature - the sliced ginger, our various superfood powdersspirulina, , Cordyceps, etc.): slowly dried under 42°C, their aromatic and enzymatic profile remains close to fresh.
  • Freeze-dried - the reference technique for the fruits: rapid freezing followed by sublimation of water under vacuum. Zero heat. The structure is preserved almost identically.
  • Unprocessed crus - like some nut, simply sorted and packaged, without any thermal treatment.
  • Oils and spices- from first cold pressing and extracted without heat, they preserve essential fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins.
  • Sweet grocery without added sugar - formulated sweets made from raw ingredients, without industrial additives.

I am trained on data up to October 2023. You can read our in-depth article on the subject: The best ways to transform our food.

Our range of raw & living foods

🍓 Freeze-dried fruits - concentrated and light

The açaí from Bolivia, the banana from Vietnam, the pitaya, the lychee... Freeze-dried at -50°C under vacuum, they remarkably retain their nutritional profile - vitamins, polyphenols, fibers - in an ultra-light and practical format. . No added sugar. No preservatives.. Just the fruit, transformed by the cold.

🥑 Fresh organic exotic fruits

Mangoes perfectly ripe, lawyers, , pitayas fresh - our offer of fresh exotic fruits changes according to arrivals and seasons. Selected in organic farming, delivered at optimal ripeness. A simple way to incorporate living food into daily life without any hassle.

🥜 Oilseeds, nuts & activated seeds

Activation (soaking nuts and seeds for 8 to 12 hours) neutralizes natural enzyme inhibitors and improves their digestibility. Our activated cashew puree, our Almonds, our Brazil nut - all from certified organic sources.

🍫 Organic Sweet Grocery - treats without compromise

Little treats designed for those who refuse to choose between indulgence and quality. No added sugar, raw and traceable ingredients - energy balls, mueslis, raw cacao snacks. What we're looking for here is palate satisfaction without the list of additives on the back.

🟡 Oils & Spices - first pressings and raw

Cold-pressed raw vegetable oils retain their essential fatty acid profile intact - omega-3, omega-9, fat-soluble vitamins. Heating an oil rich in omega-3 beyond its smoke point transforms its fatty acids. Specifically: flaxseed oil, hemp oil, walnut oil — they are used raw, as dressings. Organic spices complement the range, selected for their preserved active compound content.

Why does raw food preserve nutrients better ?

- Heat degrades. Rumm-Kreuter & Demmel (1990), in a review published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, have documented vitamin C losses ranging from 15% to 55% depending on the cooking methods applied to vegetables. Vitamins B1 and B6 are also heat-sensitive. These losses are not theoretical - they are measured, repeated, confirmed.

- On the enzymes : Beyond 42 to 45°C, food enzymes are irreversibly denatured. This point is important to understand: the digestive enzymes in your body function independently of those in the food - but the presence of active enzymes in raw food can ease the digestive workload, especially for people whose endogenous enzyme reserves are taxed.

- Another telling example: the broccoli. Broccoli sprouts contain exceptionally high levels of glucoraphanin, a precursor to sulforaphane—a sulfur compound studied for its role in protecting cells against oxidative stress (Fahey, Zhang & Talalay, PNAS, 1997). Cooking significantly reduces this concentration. Raw broccoli, on the other hand, preserves it intact. As part of a varied and balanced diet, this is a concrete argument.

- And what about the overall consumption of raw foods ? A large-scale Japanese study (Akter et al., 2016, Journal of Epidemiology, n = 88,184 adults) showed an association between regular consumption of raw vegetables and lower all-cause mortality - regardless of total vegetable consumption. This is not causal proof, but it is a signal consistent with the available data.
