Raw-quality dried turmeric powder from organic farming

Turmeric is a perennial rhizomatous herbaceous plant of the Zingiberaceae family, native to India and Malaysia. The rhizomes (underground stems filled with food reserves) of this plant are used in cooking.

Turmeric has been known in many countries around the world, for more than 3000 years, for its culinary value.

💛 When eaten raw, turmeric keeps all its taste and aroma. Unlike common turmeric powder, which is heated, boiled and dehydrated, the powder we offer you here is raw quality.

💛 Thanks to a dehydration process at 42 °C lasting 55 hours, its taste and smell are completely preserved, close to the fresh root.

The powder can be used as it is as a condiment or added to sauces, soups, smoothies, desserts and infusions. In the kitchen, turmeric goes well with a touch of black pepper or a fat (hemp oil, plant milk, avocado).

Single ingredient: raw turmeric (Curcuma longa), dehydrated at 42 °C then ground to powder. It naturally contains curcumin, the pigment that gives it its yellow colour. The nutritional values per 100 g are shown in the table in the Practical info tab.

CROC'ENVIE

Based in Brittany, in Ploemeur, Armand devotes himself to producing really good raw foods. He tries to source his ingredients in Brittany (such as seaweed, hemp or spirulina) and works with local partners for products that come from far away. So it was only natural that an exclusive collaboration came about with Biovie. Armand tells you about his journey:

" I started to take an interest in living food early in my life, in my twenties, after reading the book: "The Biogenic Diet" by Edmond Szekely.
At that time, I was practising yoga intensively and I aspired to understand the principles of a harmonious diet. I was passionate about activating and sprouting seeds.

That is where the motivation to create raw food blends to make the transition to living food easier came from.

There are many ways to get good nutritional intake; I wanted to bring together the main recommendations and simplify their use with ready-to-use preparations. I create blends that make it simple to put together instant preparations to combine with raw fruit and vegetables, making the transition to living food easier.

My 7 years' experience as a restaurateur gave me the skills to set up a food production workshop. I develop my recipes with high standards; the pursuit of taste and texture is obviously at the very heart of my approach.

I regularly run workshops in my workshop on plant milks, sprouted seeds and lacto-fermentation."

We recommend paying him a visit if you are near Ploemeur!
