Elixir Powder - Culinary preparation for organic turmeric oil macerate

"The Elixir" is a powdered preparation made from superfoods (olive oil, raw turmeric, raw ginger, sprouted fenugreek, and black pepper), which, when added to olive oil, creates a turmeric macerate to incorporate, without cooking, into raw or cooked dishes. This macerate optimizes and enhances the bioavailability of curcumin.

The powder "L'Elixir" can also be directly incorporated into a dish containing lipids.

Ginger and turmeric are dehydrated at a low temperature (42°C), thus preserving all their active ingredients.

💛 Preparation of the oil macerate:

In a 750 ml bottle, mix ½ sachet of Elixir with 500 ml of olive oil. The maceration improves over time; prepare 2 bottles simultaneously.

The macerate will be usable at the end of 3 days of maceration and will keep at room temperature within the limits of the best before date of the chosen oil.

Stir the mixture regularly and add it as a complement to a seasoning.

    💛 Direct use:

The powder "L'Elixir" can also be directly incorporated into a food containing lipids: sauces, broths, plant milks, plant-based yogurts…

Do not cook in order to preserve the active ingredients.

⚠️ Precaution for use: Turmeric macerate strongly colors.

Turmeric and ginger have been used for millennia in Asian culinary and wellness traditions. When combined, the synergy of their active ingredients reinforces their respective properties.

The ginger and turmeric used in this preparation are dehydrated at a low temperature (42 °C) in our laboratory, thus retaining all their properties.

Curcumin is liposoluble: it only dissolves in a fatty substance, which is why an oil macerate is most suitable for its dissolution and bioavailability.

Sprouted fenugreek and black pepper also help improve the absorption of curcumin by the body. The piperine in black pepper can increase the bioavailability of curcumin by 20 times (Shoba et al., 1998)., Planta Medica).

💛 The properties of this synergy:

    - Joint comfort : curcumin and gingerol help support joint function and movement comfort as part of a varied and balanced diet.

    - Cellular protection : Turmeric helps protect cells against oxidative stress due to its richness in natural antioxidants.

    - Digestive support : Ginger promotes gastric motility while turmeric stimulates bile production, facilitating fat digestion and reducing bloating and heaviness.

    - Immune system support : Turmeric contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system due to its richness in antioxidants.

    - Liver support : Turmeric contains compounds traditionally used to support the liver's natural functions.

    - Cardiovascular support : Turmeric and ginger help maintain good blood circulation and contribute to normal lipid metabolism.

    - Optimized bioavailability : Sprouted fenugreek and black pepper (piperine) increase the absorption of curcumin by the body.

Based in Brittany, in Ploemeur, Armand puts all his energy into producing super healthy and super tasty raw foods. He tries to source his ingredients from Brittany (such as seaweed, hemp, or spirulina) and works with local partners for products that come from afar. It is therefore natural that an exclusive collaboration was established with Biovie. Armand explains his journey to you:

"I became interested in living foods early in my life, in my twenties, after reading the book: "Biogenic Life" by Edmond Szekely."
At that time, I was practicing yoga intensively and aspired to understand the principles of a harmonious diet. I was passionate about activating and germinating seeds.

After several Ayurvedic stays in South India, I became particularly interested in the body's potential for regeneration. Following health issues experienced by family members, I sought solutions to help them reform their diet. This experience motivated me to create raw food compositions to facilitate the transition to a living diet; a cornerstone for a return to health.

There are multiple ways to benefit from good nutritional intake, and I wanted to gather the main recommendations and simplify their use through preparations concentrated in nutrients and active ingredients. I create blends that allow for the simple preparation of instant mixes to be combined with raw fruits and vegetables, facilitating the transition to a living diet.

My 7 years of experience as a restaurateur have allowed me to acquire the skills to create a food production laboratory. I develop my recipes with precision, and the pursuit of taste and texture is obviously at the very heart of my approach.

I regularly host workshops in my laboratory on plant-based milks, sprouted seeds, and lacto-fermentation.

What amount of Elixir powder is used per day ?

Half a teaspoon of L'Elixir powder (approximately 2 g) per day is sufficient, mixed with olive oil or incorporated into a dish containing lipids. This amount provides a significant dose of curcumin, whose bioavailability is optimized by the presence of piperine (black pepper) and sprouted fenugreek in the formula.

Can the turmeric oil macerate be heated ?

No. The ginger and turmeric in this preparation are dehydrated at a low temperature (42 °C) to preserve their active ingredients. Heating the macerate would destroy some of these compounds. Always add it at the end of cooking or directly onto an already served dish, like a seasoning.

Why is fenugreek sprouted in this preparation ?

Sprouted fenugreek improves the body's assimilation of curcumin. Germination increases its antioxidant content by 56 to 76% compared to the dry seed and activates compounds that facilitate nutrient absorption. This is a choice we made at Biovie to enhance the overall bioavailability of the preparation.
