Freeze-dried bananas - 200g
Freeze-dried Gros Michel Bananas, 200g
Banana picked ripe and freeze-dried, Gros Michel variety
Freeze-dried banana holds a surprise: it is not the supermarket Cavendish, but the Gros Michel variety - more fragrant, sweeter, with those famous vanilla notes. It is even the one that inspired the "banana" flavour of sweets (and not the other way round!). Freeze-dried, its water is removed cold (the fresh fruit contains around 75%) without ever heating it: what is left is a crunchy slice, 100% fruit, no added sugar. To nibble plain or sprinkle everywhere. Our whole range of freeze-dried fruits is this way.
We are pleased to offer you banana harvested ripe in Vietnam, freeze-dried into crunchy slices, in a 200 g resealable bag.
After the success of Durian, we wanted to expand our range of freeze-dried fruits. We were won over by the intense, concentrated flavour of these bananas - the best we have tasted so far. A real natural sweet with a pure fruit taste, no added sugar, no additives.
The fruits are grown in a tropical climate that suits their growth, and picked at full ripeness just before being freeze-dried: that is the guarantee of optimal flavour and perfect texture. Our supplier is not certified organic, but the fruits are certified "pesticide residue-free".
> Variety: Gros Michel, renowned for its creamy flesh, pronounced aroma and natural sweetness.

❄️ Here are the principles of freeze-drying explained by Miguel Barthelery:
> This technique, which appeared in France in the early 20th century, dries food by sublimation : the product is first deep-frozen, then its water evaporates under vacuum. The water passes directly from the solid state to the gaseous state, without going through the liquid state. Because no heat is involved, freeze-drying preserves the volume, appearance, flavour and texture of the food.
In practice, we love the Gros Michel banana first and foremost for its taste. Here is what its composition allows us to say (nutritional values per 100 g in the Practical info tab).
A whole fruit, a whole taste
Our freeze-dried bananas are made of 100% fruit: no added sugar, no additives, no preservatives, no oil. Just the Gros Michel banana, picked ripe and cold-dehydrated to preserve all its integrity.
A flavour concentrated by freeze-drying
Freeze-drying removes only the water from the fruit - around 75% of its original weight. The result: the banana's aromas and natural sugars are concentrated in every slice. The taste is more intense than that of a fresh banana, the texture crunchy and melting at the same time. A real natural sweet with a pure fruit taste, and a preserved composition because no heat is involved (unlike banana chips that are fried or hot-dried)
A gourmet alternative to confectionery
Crunchy, portable, no added sugar: freeze-dried bananas are a great replacement for sweets, biscuits and sugary crisps. Slip them into a school bag, a sports bag, a picnic basket or onto the corner of a desk for the 11 am break. Whole, in pieces or blended into powder, they fit just as well into raw preparations as into pastries and smoothies.

Does freeze-dried banana contain added sugar?
No. Our freeze-dried bananas are made of 100% Gros Michel banana, with no added sugar, additives, preservatives or oil. The 35 g of sugars per 100 g are only the sugars naturally present in the fruit, concentrated by the removal of the water.
What is the Gros Michel variety?
Gros Michel is a historic banana variety, more fragrant and sweeter than the Cavendish usually found in supermarkets, with notes of vanilla. It is in fact the one that inspired the "banana" flavour of sweets. Now rare, it reveals all its character once freeze-dried.
How do you eat freeze-dried banana?
You can crunch it as it is as a snack, add it to a muesli, granola or porridge, blend it into powder to flavour smoothies, plant yoghurts and desserts, sprinkle it as a topping on a bowl or home-made ice cream, or add it to your raw recipes and your kefir and kombucha drinks. As its taste is concentrated, a small amount is enough.
Is freeze-dried banana organic?
Our supplier is not certified organic, but the fruits are certified "pesticide residue-free". We have chosen transparency: bananas picked ripe, from a tropical terroir, and a partner committed to international standards (ISO 22000, HACCP, IFS).
How do you store a bag of freeze-dried banana?
Store the bag at room temperature, away from light, heat and moisture. The 200 g size is resealable: remember to reseal it well after opening to keep the crunch, as freeze-dried fruit easily reabsorbs moisture from the air.
