On sunny days, this iced latte offers a real refreshing break without giving up the taste of coffee. Cardamom and vanilla flavour coconut milk whisked until light and frothy, which is then poured over coffee ice cubes. Instead of diluting the drink, these ice cubes gradually make it stronger as they melt. A three-minute recipe, just as pleasant enjoyed quietly on your own as at a brunch with friends.

Ingredients
- 120 ml coconut milk
- 1 pinch ground cardamom
- 1 pinch vanilla powder
- 5 coffee ice cubes, more or less depending on the strength you like
- 1 dash cold coffee (optional)
Method
- The day before, pour cooled coffee into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer.
- Whisk the coconut milk with the cardamom and vanilla, ideally with an electric whisk, until nicely frothy.
- Place the coffee ice cubes in a tall glass and pour the flavoured milk over them.
- Stir from time to time as you drink: the latte gets stronger as the ice cubes melt.
Tip
For a latte with more character from the very first sip, add a dash of cold coffee directly to the whisked milk. And for homemade coconut milk, blend the flesh and water of a fresh coconut, then strain through a muslin cloth: it froths beautifully.

FAQ: your questions about the iced coconut milk latte
How do you make coffee ice cubes?
Brew your coffee a little stronger than usual, let it cool completely, then pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze for a few hours, ideally the day before. Once turned out and kept in a sealed bag, they keep for several weeks. Unlike water ice cubes, they do not dilute the drink as they melt: they strengthen it.
What does cardamom taste like?
Green cardamom has an intense aroma, at once fresh, lemony and slightly camphor-like, with a warm, sweet note. It pairs very well with coffee, coconut milk, vanilla and fruit desserts. A single pinch is enough for one drink: any more and it can quickly take over.
How do you make a coconut latte?
Replace the milk with coconut milk, whisk it until frothy, then combine it with hot or cold coffee. For an iced version, pour it over coffee ice cubes, as in this recipe, with a pinch of cardamom and vanilla. Choose a coconut milk that is not too thick, or thin it with a little water, so that it is easy to drink.
