Frozen Klamath algae from Klamath Lake, Oregon, USA

Delivery to mainland France only, with Chronopost

Biovie exclusively offers wild Klamath algae in its least processed form possible: frozen.

⛰️ We recommend taking 15 ml per day ; your bottle will give you a 1-month course.

How to use it:

If you receive your bottle partially thawed, this is not a problem for storage; the manufacturer has reassured us on this specific point. Put it straight into the freezer after taking out a maximum of 5 days' worth, i.e. 5 x 15ml = 75ml.

Turn the bottle upside down over an empty glass and leave to thaw for about an hour, to obtain a maximum of 75 ml, which will give you enough fresh algae for a maximum of 5 days. Put the rest of your bottle back in the freezer and the glass in the fridge.

For precise dosing, we recommend the 20ml syringe barrel which makes the liquid algae easy to use.

⛰️ Composition
Food supplement based on micro-algae. Characterising substance: blue-green alga Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA), wild-harvested in Klamath Lake (Oregon, USA) and frozen. Recommended daily dose: 15 ml.
Per 15 ml: protein 0.30 g; carbohydrate 0.17 g; fat 0.03 g; vitamin B12 3.3 µg, i.e. 132% of the nutrient reference values (NRV).

AFA gets its colour from phycocyanin, a blue pigment naturally present in the alga.

As AFA (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae) is wild-harvested, its nutrient content, particularly phenylethylamine and phycocyanin, may fluctuate depending on environmental factors. Some harvests may produce AFA with higher levels of chlorophyll, carotenoids or essential fatty acids. For example, AFA with a brighter blue colour tends to have higher levels of phycocyanin, while batches with a more brownish tint may have a higher carotenoid content.

These natural variations are influenced by changes in weather, sunshine, water and air temperature, and other factors that change from day to day. This variability is part of the beauty and uniqueness of wild-harvested E3AFA, making each batch slightly different in appearance, smell, taste and nutritional composition.

E3Live: PEA in 1 tablespoon: up to 1%, Phycocyanin: up to 4% per serving.

Frozen Klamath algae: freshness and nutrients preserved

We went to the United States, to Oregon, to meet the Klamath producer we consider the most serious and the longest established.

This alga grows in Upper Klamath Lake, where altitude, strong sunshine and a constant inflow of volcanic sediment come together, as several volcanoes of the Pacific Ring of Fire are not far away, and surface and ground water circulate between these volcanoes and the lake.

Not far away is, among others, the Crater Lake site, the deepest freshwater reserve in the United States, an extraordinary natural site.

We were lucky enough to attend a complete harvest during 2016 (there are fewer than 5 harvests a year). E3LIVE is the only supplier in the world with a complete infrastructure on the lake itself, allowing it to apply extremely rigorous sanitary procedures, with harvesting boats developed by the company's founders, a mooring pontoon on the lake, transhipment facilities and immediate on-site cooling units.

Between 1 and 2 hours elapse between the time the algae are harvested and the time they are chilled to 2 to 4°C. A biologist is present on board the harvesting barges, and algae samples are taken every 15 minutes to visually check for the absence of other algae and ensure the quality of the harvest on this lake at harvest time (among others Microcystis, whose absence is then confirmed by analysis).
