🧡 Maracujas, the other name for passion fruit, originate from South America. They are much appreciated for their remarkable sweet-and-sour taste. The fruit trees grow on the land of Andalusia, under the sun, with exceptional know-how for sustainable, responsible farming. We want you to taste this organic quality, direct from the grower!

Harvested at physiological ripeness by our partner Iulian, located on the Spanish Costa Tropical.
To withstand transport, the fruits are delivered still firm and will be ready to eat a few days after receipt. Once ripe, you can keep them for up to 15 days in the fridge.

For around a hundred calories per 100 g, passion fruit provides the nutrients detailed in the nutritional values table (Practical info tab) - bearing in mind that we often only eat a small portion at a time, which brings its contribution down to a reasonable level as part of a varied and balanced diet.

🧡 Its nutritional assets:

- High in fibre : 6.8 g per 100 g (Ciqual table).

- High in vitamin C (25.6 mg per 100 g, or 32% of the nutrient reference values), which contributes to the normal function of the immune system. It is also this vitamin that increases iron absorption by the body.

- High in vitamin B9 or folate (101 µg per 100 g, or 50% of NRV), which contributes to normal blood formation and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

- Source of vitamin A (21% of NRV), which contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.

- Source of copper (15% of NRV), which contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

- Low in fat (3 g per 100 g).

It also contains anthocyanins - natural pigments also found in many colourful fruits and vegetables (blueberry, beetroot, red cabbage...) which give passion fruit its characteristic hue. The potassium, phosphorus and iron contents are shown in the nutritional values table.

Direct supply chain from Andalusia

We cannot be more direct than this, from this grower in Granada, Spain! Iulian Pescara took over the family business in 2018. 2 generations have followed one another in organically farming the various fields ofavocados, mangoes, and cherimoyas and other local, seasonal exotic fruits, all of excellent quality and enhanced by the sun of southern Spain.
