Virgin castor oil from cold pressing, certified organic farming, 500ml
🔻 Organic castor oil is obtained from the first cold pressing of castor seeds. This is the most respectful and natural method to extract vegetable oil from a seed while preserving its properties: the castor seeds are heated to 82°C for 30 minutes to denature ricin, as it is toxic (thus a mandatory step). Subsequently, the oil is extracted cold using a hydraulic press.
It is particularly recommended for strengthening and nourishing nails, promoting eyelash growth, caring for dry hair and skin, and preventing hair loss. In short, it is the vegetable oil for healthy hair used as a hair treatment, or as nail care to repair brittle nails, and strengthen eyelashes.
Known for millennia for its various benefits against everyday ailments, castor oil is a must-have in your cupboards, and its 500ml bottle format ensures you always have it on hand.
The castor plant (Ricinus Communis) originates from India and Egypt, initially known as the "Palm of Christ" because its leaves resemble hands and its small miracles are numerous. Throughout history, it has been used as a makeup remover, purgative, anti-arthritis treatment, and even as fuel for oil lamps!

• Castor oil is somewhat of a "do-it-all" oil that will help you with a multitude of natural treatments. It is composed of:
- more than 80% ricinoleic acid, an omega-9 monounsaturated fatty acid that prevents the action of a protein (prostaglandin B2) responsible for hair loss
- stearic acid with emollient, nourishing, and protective properties
- linoleic acid - whose name comes from linseed oil - which participates in the synthesis of skin cell membranes and helps limit water loss that causes skin dryness. This acid has emollient, emulsifying, and cleansing powers.
- palmitic acid, which is a major component of the skin barrier and the acid layer of the epidermis, also has emollient, emulsifying, and cleansing powers
- vitamin E
• Soothing, reparative, and nourishing, known for promoting hair growth, it also slows the proliferation of bacteria and microbes. It is ideal for nourishing dehydrated skin, dry feet, and hands.
• Makeup remover: its thick texture allows it to remove all traces of makeup. Use it pure on a washable cotton pad, then massage the excess onto your face to intensely nourish your skin. You can also mix it with a more liquid oil, like sweet almond oil, to make it easier to apply.
• A few drops in a mascara tube to strengthen your lashes daily.
• For the scalp, it stimulates growth and strengthens weakened hair. For many, it promotes volume thanks to its densifying effect and is suitable for all hair types, from normal to dry, from the finest to the curliest. To do this, use it in hair treatments and apply the oil (to be rinsed); and/or by massaging your scalp and then covering your hair with a warm towel.
All of this is also valid for eyebrows and beards!
• Massage each of your nails every evening with a few drops of oil to strengthen them and reduce breakage.
• Stomach aches, joint pain, or muscle pain? Apply castor oil as a poultice with a clean cloth to soothe the pain, especially those related to osteoarthritis. Its action is enhanced with heat, feel free to complement with a hot water bottle to relieve monthly cramps, for example. However, be careful, as it can stain clothes.
• Also useful for reducing children's coughs, an old remedy suggests massaging them with this oil and a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Castor oil will activate lymph circulation and strengthen the immune system.
