💧 The Ecofiltro filters are made from three natural materials: clay, activated carbon, and colloidal silver. This combination allows for the filtration and reduction of most impurities present in water, while retaining essential minerals.

The main impurities removed by the Ecofiltro filter are:
- Parasites

- Microplastics

Additionally, the Ecofiltro filter significantly reduces the following contaminants:

💧 The Ecofiltro filter effectively removes all microplastic particles (plastics ranging in size from 5 millimeters to 1 micrometer) from tap water, thanks to the 0.8-micrometer pore size of its filter unit, which blocks larger impurities de facto. For comparison: a human hair has a diameter of 100 micrometers, making the pores of the Ecofiltro 125 times smaller.

💧Additionally, it significantly reduces the lime content in the water, but does not remove it completely. Lime is a natural bactericidal agent that helps prevent the proliferation of microorganisms in the water. Therefore, the Ecofiltro filter retains a small amount of lime to maintain the bactericidal properties of the water.

💧The Ecofiltro filter effectively removes any unpleasant odor or taste from the water, thanks to the action of activated carbon.
However, it is normal for the water to have a clay taste initially, as clay can settle at the bottom of the container during the pore opening process, giving the water a slight earthy taste. Although the water is drinkable from the start, we recommend filling and emptying the container several times until the taste diminishes. You can reuse this water to water plants, cook, or wash vegetables and fruits.

To date, no specific tests have been conducted to remove nitrates, drug residues, and various pharmaceutical products, primarily due to the enormous research costs.

> Hot Water: It is not recommended to use the filter with hot water. The materials from which it is made do not actually tolerate high temperatures, and this could shorten the lifespan of the filter.

> For Babies: The parameters for removing impurities of the Ecofiltro filter ensure that the obtained water is safe for babies and thus completely suitable for direct consumption and the preparation of baby food.

> It is not recommended to use it with seawater, as this could quickly damage the filter.

> Colloidal Silver: produced by electrolysis of pure silver in distilled water, it is a strong natural germicide. At an appropriate dosage, this antimicrobial agent has no undesirable effects and causes neither rejection nor allergic reactions.
Each Ecofiltro filter is impregnated on its exterior with 20 milliliters of colloidal silver, dissolved in distilled water. With a purity of 3.2%, this formulation eliminates any risk of side effects.

💧 The lifespan of the Ecofiltro filter depends on several factors, such as the volume of water filtered, the temperature of the water and air, and the water hardness. Based on these variables and various tests, we recommend replacing the filter every 2 years. We also recommend cleaning the filter every 6 months. If the water in your region is very hard (high lime content), cleaning every 3 months is recommended. You can also clean more frequently as needed.

> It is completely normal for the filter to have a black spot on the outside of the base. This dark coloration is due to the activated carbon, one of the components of Ecofiltro, which concentrates during the high-temperature firing process.
