No. Our freeze-dried strawberries are made of 100% strawberry, with no added sugar or artificial flavoring. The 35g of sugars per 100g are solely the naturally occurring sugars in the fruit, concentrated by the removal of water. In fact, it is one of the fruits with the lowest sugar content in our freeze-dried range.
Because the fresh strawberry is composed of nearly 90% water. By removing this water through sublimation at low temperatures, freeze-drying significantly concentrates the aroma, color, and flavor into a small crunchy piece. The result: a small amount is enough to recapture the full taste of the strawberry.
