Marine Plasma
What is marine plasma ?
So-called hypertonic marine plasma is simply seawater harvested and filtered under very specific conditions.
Our supplier Ibiza Agua de Mar collects sea water from a depth of 25 meters off the coast of Ibiza in a UNESCO listed area.
Concerning the harvest, here are the different physico-chemical parameters measured during the search for an optimal place for the harvest of hypertonic marine plasma, first on the radar with reading of the currents and according to the marine weather (wind, swell, rain. ..) and then by local measurement of these different parameters: taste of seawater, dissolved O2 level, PH level, redox level (ORP), salinity level (TDS), conductivity level ( PSU), alkalimetric title (TA), Pressure. It is the empirical practice of the harvesters and the reading of the various measuring instruments that makes it possible to decide on the best complex combination of these measures together to decide whether the harvest is triggered on the site or whether another location is sought.
Where does marine plasma come from ?
The marine plasma is collected in the high seas, off the coast of Ibiza, in a specific area classified as UNESCO with high planktonic activity and with a presence of tens of square kilometers of Posidonia. It is indeed in this specific area that lives the largest living organism listed on Earth, a posidonia herbarium of 80,000 to 200,000 years extending over 15 kilometers in length.

When is it best to take marine plasma ?
The ideal is to consume marine plasma, which contains, let's remember, all the elements that make up Mendeleev's periodic table, in the morning when you get up, on an empty stomach. take 1/4 of hypertonic marine plasma to mix 3/4 of spring water or filtered water.
What are the benefits of marine plasma ?
Minerals are the "fuel" used primarily by our body, which is necessary for our cells to perform their functions optimally. They are also essential for the absorption of vitamins and are responsible for enzymatic processes in cells. Cells perform all their functions with maximum vitality and the precise capacity for organic, bioavailable, alkaline cellular nutrition. Thus, sea water becomes the best mineral drink since it contains all the elements of Mendeleev's periodic table.
Another of the great benefits of seawater is its pH. As Otto Warbürg, father of cellular respiration and two-time Nobel laureate, said, “all diseases are acidic and where there is oxygen and alkalinity there can be no disease”. Due to the quality of our raw material, the hyper-oxygenated waters of Posidonia meadows (recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1999) and sea currents providing purity and clarity: Ibiza and Formentera Agua de Mar have an alkaline pH , between 8.1 and 8.4, which will help the body maintain a neutral pH through homeostasis. The ingestion of sea water is advised to control and maintain our PH, as well as an exceptional supplement for alkaline diets.
The antioxidant and anti-acidity power produced by seawater is due to the alkalinity provided by the minerals.
Drinking filtered seawater in a direct and controlled way is very beneficial for your health, because seawater is an excellent nutrient, containing most of the minerals of the periodic table and all of them dissolved in the best universal solvent available: l 'water.
Seawater contains all the minerals of the periodic table of elements in a bioavailable way. It is thanks to this that foods cooked in seawater are rehydrated and remineralized to make foods with high nutritional power. The problem today is that our intake of minerals through food has dropped dramatically and what is causing this? The answer is very simple: pollution, soil depletion due to intensive agricultural production and our stressful pace of life have considerably reduced the quality of food and its mineral intake, drastically reducing the minimum contribution necessary for the proper functioning of the body.
Seawater also helps us stay young, for a simple reason: the body regularly and cyclically regenerates all its cells, because their lifespan is limited in time. As we age, one of the first faculties the cell loses is the ability to hydrate. We know that the older we get, the less we drink, so drinking and ingesting seawater can help us "wake up" this ability to hydrate ourselves.

Questions & answers
All about Marine Plasma.
The questions we get asked most often, and our straight answers.
What is marine plasma ?
💠 Marine plasma or seawater is a filtered and balanced seawater solution, rich in minerals and trace elements used for its therapeutic and revitalizing properties for the body because it contains almost all the elements of the periodic table.
💠 The harvesting of the highest quality marine plasma must be done in specific sites with high concentrations of plankton (bloom) that appear spontaneously after a few days of good weather without wind and at certain seasons (not in summer, the water is too warm) in specific places where marine currents conducive to the formation of mobile vortexes (like cyclones) meet.
💠 The one we offer is in the so-called hypertonic form and benefits from sterile filtration under very precise conditions. Indeed, the water collected in the open sea by our supplier is located off the coast of Ibiza, several meters deep (at an optimal depth depending on the measured parameters and the form of collection), and is situated in a specific marine environment classified by UNESCO with high planktonic activity, with the presence of tens of km² of posidonia and numerous marine organisms fond of this plankton.
In fact, it is in this specific area that the largest living organism recorded on Earth lives, a posidonia meadow 80,000 to 200,000 years old extending over 15 kilometers long! (Source: Sophie Arnaud-Haond, Carlos M. Duarte, Elena Diaz-Almela, Núria Marbà, Tomas Sintes, Ester A. 💠 Our supplier uses and measures different physico-chemical parameters when searching for an optimal location to proceed with the marine plasma harvest, namely:
- radar reading of currents (depending on marine weather: wind, swell, rain...),
- local measurement of different parameters: taste of seawater, dissolved O2 level, pH level, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), salinity level (TDS), conductivity level (PSU), alkalinity (TA), pressure.
It is the empirical practice of the harvesters and the reading of these different measuring instruments that will allow the decision of the best complex combination of these measures among themselves, to determine if the harvest is triggered on the site, or if another location must be sought.

🌀 What are the differences between marine plasma in bottles and ampoules with hypertonic or isotonic plasma?
There are two differences:
💠 The price is 10 times lower: our ultrafiltered marine plasma in glass bottles costs €22 per liter, while ampoules with hypertonic marine plasma or Quinton plasma cost about €220 per liter, which is 10 times more expensive! The more complex distribution chain (distributors, resellers, retailers...) and higher production costs explain this difference. The product is completely equivalent, if not superior, for the marine plasma from Ibiza, which is harvested with a boat and numerous parameters are measured during each harvest, as explained on our product page hypertonic marine plasma.
💠 The heating: the ampoules are actually passed in front of several rows of giant Bunsen burners to be hot-sealed, and therefore undergo mandatory heating, our bottled seawater is cold sterilized, at less than 6°C.
Example of an ampoule manufacturing process in this video below:
🌀 Isotonic or hypertonic seawater plasma: What are the differences?
💠 Seawater is a generic term that encompasses the various forms of collected and filtered seawater. The term "marine plasma" or Quinton plasma refers to seawater collected in areas with intense planktonic and marine activity. This 100% seawater form is referred to as the hypertonic form.
In our shop, we exclusively offer hypertonic marine plasma to enable you to save money by making your own isotonic marine plasma, as it is essentially the same liquid, only one is diluted and the other is pure.
💠 In fact, the formula for making isotonic marine plasma from hypertonic marine plasma is as follows: Mix 1/4 hypertonic marine plasma + 3/4 spring water. (for example, for 1L isotonic plasma = 250 mL hypertonic + 750 mL spring water).

What are the benefits of marine plasma ?
💠 Mineral salts are the "fuel" primarily used by our body. They are also essential for the absorption of vitamins and are responsible for the enzymatic processes of cells. Cells perform all their functions with maximum vitality and the precise capacity of organic, bioavailable, and alkaline cellular nutrition. Seawater contains between 35 and 38 grams per liter of dissolved salts, making it a concentrate of minerals and trace elements that, with regular intake, helps prevent any deficiency in minerals and trace elements. Thus, since seawater contains almost all the elements of Mendeleev's periodic table, it is undoubtedly the best mineral drink for our body.
💠 Another great advantage of seawater is its pH. Indeed, the ingestion of seawater is recommended to control and maintain our pH, as well as being an exceptional supplement for alkaline diets. As Otto Warburg, the father of cellular respiration and double Nobel Prize laureate, said: "all diseases are acidic, and where there is oxygen and alkalinity, there can be no disease".
💠 This is why it is so important to have alkaline foods in our diet. If our internal environment becomes acidic, the first thing the body will try to do is make its pH alkaline, and how does it do this? It primarily resorts to its calcium reserves to extinguish this "fire," and this calcium is most easily found by the body in the first available resource, the bones. It is easy to understand that this mechanism leads to fragilities. By ingesting seawater, we can control and maintain our pH, keep our bones healthy, and improve our digestion.
💠 Various universities are currently studying the nutritional and therapeutic contributions of seawater, such as the University of Malaga, La Laguna (Tenerife), Antioquia (Colombia), and Nouakchott (Mauritania). Common characteristics between human blood and seawater in isotonic concentration include homeostasis (self-regulation of properties) and the specific and similar presence of trace elements (essential chemical elements). Human plasma and marine plasma in isotonic (diluted) form are therefore very similar. Furthermore, during the international thalassotherapy congress in Cannes in 1957, De La Farge stated that seawater is bactericidal only for pathogenic bacteria.

🌀 Who is René Quinton?
💠 All our seawater-based products are inspired by the works of René Quinton, a French biologist born on December 15, 1866, in Chaumes-en-Brie, France, and who passed away on July 9, 1925, in Grasse. As an emblematic figure of biology and natural medicine in the early 20th century, his intellectual and scientific career stands out as a pioneer in the research of the therapeutic applications and healing properties of seawater.
René Quinton studied in Paris, where he developed a keen interest in the natural sciences and particularly in the phenomenon of homeostasis in living organisms.
💠 His most famous work is undoubtedly the discovery and development of "Quinton Plasma". Through his studies, he postulated that isotonic seawater, which resembles blood plasma in terms of mineralization, could be used to restore the physiological balance in humans and other mammals. This idea was revolutionary at a time when blood transfusions were still in the experimental stage.
In 1904, René Quinton published "L'eau de mer, milieu organique", a work in which he presents his theories and experimental results, demonstrating the positive effects of seawater on various pathologies. This publication marked a turning point and brought him recognition and criticism within the scientific community.
💠 As a passionate advocate of his discoveries, René Quinton founded seawater dispensaries where seawater was administered to treat diseases such as cholera, tuberculosis, and various digestive and skin disorders. These clinics achieved remarkable success, not only in France but also internationally, with the opening of similar centers in Egypt, Argentina, and even as far as China.
💠 The international influence of René Quinton was evident through the adoption of his seawater therapies in several countries. His approach inspired researchers and practitioners worldwide, and even today, "Quinton Plasma" is widely used in alternative medicine and naturopathy. Despite the initial controversies and skepticism of the traditional scientific community, Quinton's works have stood the test of time, thanks to their innovative nature and practical application in numerous natural health protocols.
