The power and freshness of the sea on your plate! Discover the briny and sweet taste of kombu seaweed !

The power and freshness of the sea on your plate !
Discover the strong and iodized marine taste of wakame seaweed, which is very similar to that of an oyster !

🌿 Preserved in sea salt, our fresh wakame seaweed can be kept for 6 months in the refrigerator. We recommend consuming it after two desalting baths. Its leaves are thin and delicate, but be careful with the vein, which can be a bit more robust.

Since the seaweed is preserved in salt, it softens more quickly and becomes more brittle after a few months. But we are sure that you won't have to keep it for 6 months !
Desalination : your seaweed is preserved in salt. Take the desired amount of seaweed to consume directly in a salad or in another recipe. Soak them briefly in water for an initial desalting. Rinse, then discard the water. Then let them soak for two to three minutes in a sufficient amount of water. Rinse.
If the seaweed tastes too salty, rinse it a third time.

    - Cooking with seaweed a book and recipe journal co-written with BRETALG, at Éditions Marie-Claire, containing 80 recipes to make you love seaweed !

🌿 As well as an excerpt from the report produced by France 3 where Eric introduces us to different fresh seaweeds:

🌿 Wakame is very rich in nutrients. It contains:

    - vitamins: A, B1, B3, B6, B12, B2, B9, and K (like all algae), B5 (pantothenic acid),
    - fibers, particularly soluble ones: a portion of fresh seaweed can provide you with 8% of the recommended daily amount of fiber; as for dried seaweed, fibers would account for 35 to 50% of their weight .
    - trace elements: calcium (wakame is ten times richer in calcium than milk); it is an excellent source of magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, manganese, phosphorus, iodine, zinc
    - proteins
    - fatty acids such as omega-3
    - antioxidants, including fucoxanthin, a carotenoid pigment that gives it its brownish color
    - phytosterols, compounds that chemically resemble cholesterol and prevent the body from absorbing it .

🌿 Wakame seaweed has many benefits:

    - It is low in calories, with an energy value of 45 calories per 100 grams (3g of protein, 0.6g of fat, 9.14g of carbohydrates, and 0.5g of fiber).
    - It is effective for skincare: thanks to fucoidan, an anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and healing compound. Indeed, wakame soothes and purifies acne-prone skin.
    - As an antioxidant, wakame is a powerful ally in the fight against skin (thanks to fucoxanthin) and hair degeneration. To fully benefit from its antioxidant effects, it is recommended to consume 3 to 6 grams per day.
    - The richness in fatty acids of wakame promotes the production of good cholesterol and cardiovascular health.
    - Due to its high iodine content, wakame is an excellent resource for treating thyroid problems.
    - Finally, wakame is also believed to aid in weight loss by quickly inducing a feeling of fullness (like seaweed in general).

Manual collection on the foreshore – From March to June

    - Conservation : in the refrigerator

    - Delivery:The shipment of seaweed is carried out on a just-in-time basis, and a few additional days may sometimes be necessary to process your order, depending on the day we are restocked. Seaweed can easily withstand several days of travel without refrigeration, even in high heat, thanks to their packaging in a salt bath.

You will receive an email on the day your package is shipped, followed by your tracking number the next day.

It happens that the seaweed releases a bit of water during transport, despite double zip packaging. This is rare, but if your box arrives wet, it's not a problem. Please accept your package and contact us by email to discuss the situation. In 10 years, we have always found amicable arrangements, but refusing fresh goods means the goods are lost, and we wish to avoid such scenarios.
