Well known in Japanese cuisine, particularly in its form ofdried seaweed for the making of makis, the noriPorphyra purpurea) is a staple of raw food! This wild algae is the most consumed in the world.
🌿 Nori is as thin as a veil, with a beautiful dark purple color. Its dried sheets allow you to easily create creative and friendly rolls. When cut into flakes, it seasons and decorates your dishes while providing them with a concentrated source of energy. The seaweed can also be consumed fresh in seaweed tartare, salad, dressing... Its mild and woody flavor, subtly fragrant, is reminiscent of dried mushrooms.
Since the seaweed is preserved in salt, it softens more quickly and becomes more brittle after a few months. But we are sure that you won't have to keep it for 6 months !
Desalination : your seaweed is preserved in salt. Take the desired amount of seaweed to consume directly in a salad or in another recipe. Soak them briefly in water for an initial desalting. Rinse, then discard the water. Then let them soak for two to three minutes in a sufficient amount of water. Rinse.
If the seaweed tastes too salty, rinse it a third time.
🌿 Its features:
Its exceptional protein content (45%) surpasses that of soy, meat, and eggs. It is the second richest algae in protein, just after spirulina !
Its powerful contribution of vitamins A, B2, B9, B12, C, and K, as well as essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6), ensures your immune and nervous well-being. It is particularly rich in vitamin B12 (29mg per 100g).
Its richness in iron, zinc, copper, and manganese further contributes to the oxygenation of the body, the strengthening of the immune system, and the synthesis of collagen for supple, hydrated tissues and radiant skin.
