Cosmos Natural certified Epsom salt

Magnesium sulfate

Epsom salt is the common name for magnesium sulfate. "Epsom" is actually the name of the spa town in England where it was first discovered in the 17th century.

It comes in the form of small white crystals, easily soluble in water, and is traditionally used in spas or at home in a hot bath: its minerals are very well absorbed by the skin. It is renowned for its relaxing and decontracting effects but also has other uses!

Stimulating exfoliant: apply all over the body, rub into damp skin until the grains disappear.

Relaxing bath: put 4 to 5 tablespoons in your bathtub filled with water, relax for about twenty minutes. Remember to rinse well afterwards and apply a moisturizing oil to your skin. You can go to bed, we guarantee you a good night!

Foot bath: after a long day of walking or when your feet feel tired, put a tablespoon of Epsom salt in a basin of hot water. Relax your feet in this bath for 20 minutes. The ideal is to then finish with a massage of your feet with vegetable oil and soothing essential oils (peppermint, lavender, etc.).

Did you know that it is also used for your plants? To sprinkle on the soil in the spring, it will provide the magnesium necessary for your plants to start again after winter and promote photosynthesis.

In internal use it has a natural purgative effect. Caution: it should not be used without the advice and monitoring of a doctor or health practitioner /!\

At home, it can help you clean a burnt pan: 1/4 Epsom salt with hot water loosens burnt food.

Composed of sulfate and magnesium, these are the 2 elements that give Epsom salt its properties.

> Muscle relaxant
> Antispasmodic and anti-cramp action
> Relaxation of muscles and extremities.
These are the main benefits of Epsom salt on our body.

It is therefore recommended for athletes after intense training or competition, to recover more easily and remineralize the body after exercise.

It relieves joint pain, stiffness and tension. Magnesium also helps improve blood circulation. For this it is recommended for people wishing to find comfort in their legs, suffering from arthritis or for people who are stressed, tired.

It promotes sleep: it is well known, when you are relaxed, you sleep much better... This is the case after an Epsom salt bath, your body will be relaxed. In addition, the absorbed magnesium will regulate and reduce stress hormone levels. These 2 complementary actions will allow you to fall asleep more easily.

Remineralizing for the skin, it provides it with the sulfur and magnesium it needs.
Sulfur also plays an important role because it helps kill bacteria and fungi.

Taken orally, it helps with occasional constipation. Its laxative effect can be intense and abrasive for your digestive system: have a health professional accompany you.

Under medical advice, it can be used to relieve eczema and psoriasis.

Already known in naturopathy, we have chosen to take this Epsom salt which complements our clays in our mini range of essential care products for the family.
