Its benefits:
1) Mangoes are good for eye health
Mangoes are particularly rich in A vitamin, a vitamin very beneficial for our eyes. A cup of mango slices is about 30% of our daily A vitamin needs! It helps maintain good vision and avoid dry eyes.
They also contain zeaxanthin and lutein, two antioxidants that help filter harmful UV rays to protect the eyes from the sun's harmful action.
With all this, mangoes thus help prevent age-related macular degeneration.
2) Mango helps regulate blood pressure
Mangoes also have a very beneficial effect on blood pressure. Indeed, the potassium and magnesium they contain help regulate heart rhythm and maintain blood pressure at normal levels. Therefore, they can help those suffering from hypertension to lower their blood pressure.
3) It reduces cholesterol
This is another reason why mango is very good for the heart! Its fibers, C vitamin, and pectin help reduce levels of bad cholesterol in the blood.
4) It helps fight diabetes
Mango leaves are very effective in regulating insulin levels in the blood. To do this, boil about ten mango leaves and let it sit overnight. In the morning, strain the mixture and drink the obtained beverage before breakfast. Repeat regularly.
As for the mangoes themselves, it was long believed that they could not be eaten by diabetics, for fear of increasing their sugar levels. But that is false. Indeed, although it has a very sweet taste, the mango has a low glycemic index. It is around 50, and the consumption of mangoes, therefore, does not have an effect on blood sugar levels.
5) Mango keeps the skin young and beautiful
Thanks to the A and C vitamins it contains, the mango helps in the production of collagen. And by protecting blood vessels and maintaining the body's tissues healthy, collagen helps the skin remain firm, thus slowing down its aging.
Furthermore, mangoes help protect the skin against UV rays, which also contribute to its aging.
6) Mango helps fight acne
In addition to fighting skin aging, mangoes also help deeply cleanse the face, thus fighting acne.
To do this, make a mango mask: cut slices and apply them to your face for 10 to 15 minutes, before rinsing. Mango pulp will help open clogged pores and unclog them. And it is these pores that cause acne!
7) Mango is good for the brain
This is due to its high content of B6 vitamin. This vitamin helps maintain neurotransmitters healthy, so they continue to function well. But it goes further: in addition to preserving our cognitive functions, it also helps improve them.
Thus, not only is mango beneficial for memory, but it also helps improve concentration. Moreover, B6 vitamin helps reduce the risk of dementia in older people.
8) Mango improves digestion
On one hand, the soluble fibers found in its composition help facilitate digestion and the elimination of food. On the other hand, it contains digestive enzymes that help digest proteins by participating in their breakdown.
As a result, the mango is a very good ally against constipation, indigestion, excess acidity, and hemorrhoids.
9) Mango strengthens the immune system
Thanks to its content in A and C vitamins and beta-carotene, mango helps protect our body against free radicals. In addition, its action on the digestive system also helps avoid diseases, as many of them are related to poor functioning or poor health of our digestive system.
10) Mango helps with weight loss
Make no mistake: mango is sweet, but it is low in calories!
11) Mango is effective against anemia
Very rich in iron, mango helps fight anemia and reduce fatigue. It is therefore recommended for people who are exposed to iron deficiencies, such as pregnant women and postmenopausal women.
