500g format
Chlorella appeared on Earth 1.5 to 2 billion years ago. This unicellular freshwater microalga is found in the wild in lakes and ponds around the world. Named Chlorella vulgaris by a Dutch biologist at the end of the 19th century, its name means "little green" — and for good reason: it is smaller than a red blood cell !
❇️ Like spirulina, chlorella is a particularly nutritious and alkalizing microalgae. Its high protein content (50%), vitamins B1, B6, B12 (60 µg/100g), C and K actually makes it a favorite tool for vegetarian and vegan diets. It is also rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, selenium... and omega 3 !
Its pigments rich in carotenoids, particularly lutein, contribute to the protection of cells against oxidative stress and support good eye health. According to theNational Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES), Microalgae such as chlorella are an interesting alternative source of proteins and micronutrients in animal product-free diets.
Chlorella is distinguished from spirulina because it has an individualized nucleus, whose membrane is full of chlorophyll and cellulose. It is this so-called "chelating" membrane that makes it a remarkable tool for supporting the body's natural elimination functions in the face of pollution, pesticides, and oxidative stress.
On one hand, the chlorophyll resembles surprisingly to hemoglobin. It helps enrich the blood with ionized minerals, oxygenate the body, and contribute to pH balance.
On the other hand, cellulose fibers, thanks to the presence of sporopollenin, capture heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium) during digestive transit. These fibers are not digested but are directly eliminated — it is precisely this property that makes chlorella so valuable for supporting the organs of elimination.
Today, we are all exposed to heavy metals to varying degrees. A spring detox cure Taking 3 to 6 g of chlorella per day for a few months helps reduce the presence of heavy metals in the organs and blood. As part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
❇️ To learn more, we have made a video explaining in detail the use of chlorella:
"Serious site on which I have ordered several times (spirulina, chlorella, sea water...). Quality products at fair prices, quite unique and unavailable elsewhere."

Recommended daily consumption: 3 to 6 g per day (1 heaped teaspoon), ideally in the morning on an empty stomach or with a meal, over a course of a few months. Start with a low dose (1 to 2 g/day) and gradually increase — this is the most comfortable way to incorporate chlorella, especially if it's your first course.
❇️ You can use our measuring spoon to measure your doses easily.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Keep out of reach of young children and away from light.
- Should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
Chlorella, being an algae that chelates heavy metals and toxins, its consumption can lead to temporary effects related to the elimination by the organs of elimination (fatigue, headaches, or skin rashes). These symptoms are temporary and usually subside after a few days.
Caution in case of simultaneous medication treatment: chlorella can particularly interact with anticoagulants (risk of interaction with vitamin K) and immunosuppressive drugs. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or undergoing medical treatment, consult your healthcare professional before starting any chlorella regimen.
Two types of rare reactions can also be observed:
— Increased sensitivity to the sun (photosensitivity): Chlorella can increase skin sensitivity — avoid prolonged sun exposure at the beginning of the treatment.
— Gastrointestinal discomforts: Bloating, nausea, gas, or diarrhea may occur at the beginning of the treatment, especially in cases of excessive intake. Starting with a low dose and gradually increasing it remains the best approach.
"I have been consuming algae, among other things, for years. I also recommend their products to my clients as a naturopath."
— Amélie Bourdeleau, naturopath ★★★★★
Organic chlorella powder is known for its ability to support the body's natural elimination functions thanks to its cell membrane rich in sporopollenin. It provides complete plant proteins (50% of dry matter), vitamin B12 (60 µg/100g), antioxidants (carotenoids, lutein) that help protect cells against oxidative stress, as well as iron, zinc, and magnesium. Particularly suitable for vegan diets. As part of a varied and balanced diet.
The recommended dosage is 3 to 6 g of chlorella powder per day, which is about 1 heaped teaspoon. This dose can be taken in the morning on an empty stomach or with a meal. A course of a few months is generally advised. It is preferable to start with a low dose (1 to 2 g/day) and gradually increase it for better digestive tolerance.
Chlorella is known for its chelating properties. Its cell membrane, rich in sporopollenin and cellulose fibers, captures heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium) during digestive transit and naturally eliminates them through the stool without being digested. A regular intake of 3-6 g/day helps support the body's natural elimination functions.
Chlorella is not recommended without medical advice if you are undergoing treatment with anticoagulants (risk of interaction with vitamin K) or immunosuppressants. Caution is advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you have a sensitivity to algae or known photosensitivity, consult your healthcare professional before starting a course. Some people may experience digestive discomfort at the beginning of the course — starting with a low dose is the best approach.
ChlorellaChlorella vulgaris) possesses an individualized nucleus with a chelating membrane — a property absent in spirulina — which gives it superior support in the elimination of heavy metals. Spirulina is richer in phycocyanin (a blue antioxidant pigment) and is generally better tolerated at the beginning of a treatment. Chlorella is denser in chlorophyll and iron. Both microalgae are complementary and can be combined for a more complete nutritional spectrum.
❇️ Cosmetic tip: Chlorella powder is also used in the preparation of your homemade cosmetics! In addition to helping protect your skin against the effects of pollution, its chlorophyll content promotes the production of elastin and collagen, thus contributing to normal cell renewal.

The work of Hélène Desmorieux, a doctoral student and researcher at LAGEP, a laboratory jointly supervised by the Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 and the CNRS, shows that the best drying method for preserving the nutrients of microalgae is spray drying, recognized by Ecocert. This nebulization method allows for the rapid dehydration of algae and the preservation of their nutritional qualities.Lyophilization is a superior method but has never been practically used on an industrial scale for microalgae. The convection drying methods on trays, commonly practiced in small-scale artisanal structures in France, have drawbacks related to the duration of the drying process.
